7th Grade Language Arts Teachers work with Students on New Writing Program

7th grade Language Arts classes have been working on Lucy Calkins Units of Study Writing. Students have written personal narratives about their own experiences. Their narratives are about exciting, memorable, sometimes sad, and special moments in their lives.  Students have also created storybooks and images about their narratives, and have also brought in personal objects from home that relate to their stories. Today was an opportunity to show off all their hard work to their fellow students and other teachers. In groups of 4-5, students were able to read their narratives aloud and hear positive feedback from their peers. It was a great way to engage all students and bring together different classes to showcase their talents!
